THE SHORT ANSWER

Rebecca Yarros’s FAQ says you can retry after a few hours and keep attempting Threshing until you bond. Use the countdown in your actual game for timing; the FAQ does not specify a universal four-hour duration.

Read the timer in your session

Launch-day players reported several countdown displays, including reports of four-hour waits after failure. A report from another account is not a substitute for what your current session shows. Record the displayed value and the time you saw it instead of assuming a standard interval.

Be especially careful with a bare number such as 4:00. Without the surrounding labels or changing display, you should not assume its units. A screenshot of the full timer context is more useful than a number copied into a message.

Set a reminder from the displayed time

For a personal reminder, add the remaining duration shown by the game to your current local time. Label the result as an estimate. The game decides when another attempt is available, and a reminder cannot unlock it.

If you switch devices or return much later, check the game again before starting. A note left in another tab can be stale, and your computer clock may differ from the service. Adjust a personal reminder when the displayed information changes rather than trying to force the two to agree.

Separate failure from interruption

The launch discussion includes both failed Threshing attempts and pages that crashed or stopped loading. Those are different observations. Do not record an error page as a death unless the game actually reports that outcome.

  • After a stated failure, note the outcome and the displayed retry information.
  • After a loading problem, preserve the scene and error text if available.
  • Return through the official game and check the account state.
  • Keep uncertain outcomes marked as interrupted until the game clarifies them.

Make the next attempt easier to review

Before returning, read your last notes and choose one thing you want to observe more carefully. That might be a new option, the exact failure message, or whether an encounter repeats. This is a method for improving your record, not a method for controlling the outcome.

Repeated refreshing is not evidence that a cooldown has reset. Avoid treating unofficial bypass claims as normal game instructions. A clear record and a sensible reminder are enough to help you return without watching a countdown continuously.

Questions along the way

Is the retry delay always four hours?+

The official FAQ gives only an approximate duration. Follow the timer shown in your session.

Can a companion timer unlock another attempt?+

No. A companion reminder is a local planning aid and cannot change the official game state.
